RE: Best way to recharge house batteries while dry camping

You did it right, the charger on the ginny is only good for about 8 amps and I have heard the voltage can get really high. Using the built in converter you probably get anywhere from 40 to 60 amps. Much better.

RE: 3000W Chinese Gensets Info.

Good information "walkers2rad", it helps to know if someone bought a piece of equipment and how well it performs and if the purchaser would do it again. Thanks again. :) Papa Bob

RE: Torquing wheel lug nuts

If there is no indicator that you can see, it probably clicks when you reach the setting. Surely you can torque a 100 lbs, my 15 year old grandson can.

RE: First timer with axle problem

Kind of hard to prove something never happened. I believe I am facing the same thing right now. I noticed today both tires on the drivers side are wearing on the inside edge and both tires on the passenger side are wearing on the outside edge. Called the dealer today and sounds like they are going to try and wiggle out of it. Told me to have it checked at a alignment shop but if it came like that the tire wear would have showed up before now. The 5er is 9 months old with 5,000 miles on it.

RE: 5 shots of novacaine

Sounds like me, always takes several to numb me up. In fact my dentist always has me come in a half hour before my appointment so he can start trying to get me numb. :)

RE: How long will my battery last?

Forgot to add the construction is different in that true deep cycle batteries have heavier plates.

RE: How long will my battery last?

Car "Starting" batteries are designed to deliver high current for a very short period of time, camper batteries should be "Deep Cycle batteries" which are designed to deliver low current loads for a long period of time and can safely be discharged to fairly low levels without damage. Most of the so called deep cycle batteries available are really combination starting / deep cycle batteries. About the only true deep cycle batteries are "golf cart" batteries which are usually 6 volt so you have to use 2 hooked in series to get 12 volts. The battery that usually comes with most RV's are the combination batteries. HTH :)

RE: GENERATOR, NO Electric Output. Honda

The field needs to be flashed to re-create the residual magnetism used for initial excitation. Find a repair manual, and it'll tell you how.

RE: 30A Surge Protector

I like the Surge Guard like this one 30 amp
I have had the 30 amp and right now use the 50 amp. They not only protect from surges but low and high voltages. If the voltage drops lower than 102 or goes above 132 it shuts down the voltage to the camper. I use the hardwired versions but you can also get the plug in models Plug in models
You can get them at most RV supply places I just used Camping World to show you what they look like. Good investment. :)
